WAS’s Responsible Education Provider

Accreditation is a voluntary quality assurance scheme for independent private sector Further Education & Training Institutions including Independent Higher Education Providers, Distance Learning Institutions, Professional Short Course Providers and  Specialty Tutorial Schools &  Colleges.

The objectives of WAS’s “Responsible Education Provider”   accreditation scheme are:

  • FETIs have appropriate management systems in place and control over their processes;
  • Personnel that are employed by FETIs have required competencies to perform their duties;
  • FETIs follow rigorous and consistent processes to educate, train and evaluate students;
  • To enable FETIs to state publicly that they have voluntary accepted WAS’s “Responsible Education Provider” accreditation scheme for maintenance and continual improvement of their services delivery.
WAS Accreditation requires that Further Education & Training Institutions conforms to the most recent versions of the following International Standards:

National Safe School Accreditation A mark of excellence that is awarded by WAS  - an independent, third-party accreditation body, when a School proves that it continuously maintains high standards of health & safety while providing their educational and other services. WAS’s National Safe School Award Accreditation is based on Safe School Standard, which is a voluntary health & safety accreditation for Schools, Colleges, Universities and Other Education & Training Institutions (School). The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (commonly abbreviated as the CRC, CROC, or UNCRC) is a human rights treaty which sets out the civil, political, economic, social, health and cultural rights of student. The Convention defines a child as any human being under the age of eighteen, unless the age of majority is attained earlier under national legislation. This accreditation endeavors to support all those who are concerned about the Right of the Child. This accreditation intends to build necessary effectiveness for Health & Safety Management in the face of changing needs of the society, parents, schools and students in a planned manner. Wherein a system approach made of interrelated elements fosters a culture of reflection and continuous improvement. “National Safe School Award” accreditation means that a school meets the standards  for:

In Loco Parents Accreditation  A mark of excellence that is awarded by WAS - an independent, third-party accreditation body, when an Early Education & Child Care Centre proves that it continuously maintains high standards of quality, health & safety in early childhood education and care. WAS’s “In Loco Parentis” Accreditation is a voluntary Quality, Health & Safety Accreditation especially designed and managed for the Early Education & Child Care Centers (EECCC). The Latin term in loco parentis means “in the place of a parent". ACCAB’s “In Loco Parentis Standard” is inspired by this doctrine that the child care institutions shall act in the best interests of the  children being minded  as they consider fit, while not allowing what would be considered violations of the child's personal individuality and autonomy.
